Newcomers and drop-ins welcome!
This winter our class is taking a more general approach to the principles and practice of Feldenkrais ATM (Awareness Through Movement) study. Newcomers are very welcome, though the last class of the any month may not be appropriate for newcomers to Feldenkrais.
Benefits of ATM study typically include reduced pain, performance enhancement (day-to-day/athletic/artistic), self-discovery, and quality of life improvements as we learn to function with more ease, confidence, and pleasure.
- I’m highlighting the principles at work in each lesson, so we can closely examine how to maximize the quality of life benefits of a personal Feldenkrais practice.
- We study a wide variety of ATM lessons. Ongoing discussion with students will influence my lesson choices. Please contact me with requests for specific lessons or learning topics.
- Some of the November’s lessons were a fresh look at the basics. Several were derived from or related to Moshe Feldenkrais’s Awareness Through Movement book ($12 at Amazon).
- As always we’ll enjoy unrecorded discussion after class, for students who attend live and wish to stay to chat.
This lesson series is an opportunity to be in a lively nurturing dialog of curiosity about the principles and practice of the Feldenkrais Method, so we can move and feel better in all that we do!
See you on the mat,
