We’re pleased to share with the entire Feldenkrais Project community Secrets of the Seated Twist, which takes an important place in our collection called Learning the Limbs, from the Center. It’s designed to ease you into a potent configuration for Feldenkrais study that many find hard to access: side-sitting on the floor. This lesson is a new permanent part of our freely offered (donor-supported) collections.
More info from our newsletter (sign up here to receive updates like this):
“Feldenkrais for everyone!” is our slogan because making this wonderful method globally accessible is the reason The FP exists. We do this by offering our primary content at no cost, and by sharing recordings carefully designed to help Felden-fans access challenging Feldenkrais concepts and lessons.
Today let’s do both! Secrets of the Seated Twist is our new free lesson designed to ease you into a potent configuration for Feldenkrais study that many find hard to access: side-sitting on the floor.
While most side-sitting Feldenkrais lessons tend to keep you seated on the floor for much of the hour, this lesson begins with a few minutes of trying it out, then you’ll lie down and enjoy a long exploration of movements designed to unlock its learning potential. Later when you return to the side-sitting twist you’ll likely find it much easier. Try the lesson and let us know in the comments section!
One other detail about this new lesson: it’s the final piece of our collection called Learning the Limbs, from the Center, taking a place right in the middle of it. If you’ve enjoyed those lessons, click here to see how it fits in, and maybe return to favorites like The Hip Joints: Moving Proximal Around Distal before or after studying it.
As always our donors can also use the Related Lessons tab to discover many other learning paths in and out of Secrets of the Seated Twist.
Happy New Year, and happy studies!
