About Zoom video conferencing

Zoom is the internet's leading live video conferencing technology. It works very well on almost all computers, tablets, and phones. It's easy to learn and gives you a lot of control over your experience.

  • By default (the way we've set up the meetings) attendees can see and hear Nick without sharing video or audio of themselves.
  • If you wish to participate in discussion, you'll have the option to enable your microphone (and video if you wish), or simply type into a text chat box.
  • You'll register for the meeting with your email, so Zoom can contact you about how to join the meeting. Your email will not be used for marketing or shared with anyone.
  • When registering, what you enter in the First Name and Last Name fields will be shared with Nick and other participants. You can make your name as anonymous as you wish.
  • After you register Zoom will email you with instructions on how to attend.

Zoom will invite you to download their software to your device or computer. The Zoom app allows you to watch live video of Nick and, if you wish, to participate by text chat, voice, and even video sharing.

It is not required to download the Zoom software. If you don't, you'll still be able to listen to the live conference through your web browser, using the "join meeting" link Zoom will email you, or simply by dialing a US phone number. If you don't choose to download the Zoom software, you won’t be able to see Nick and the other participants, nor participate in discussion.
