[UPDATE: As a temporary additional donor benefit during the first months of quarantine I offered periodic donors-only Zoom Feldenkrais ATM classes and Q&A discussions. These three recordings are available to current Members and Patrons of the Feldenkrais Project, and they include the one below. -Nick]

Video Awareness Through Movement lesson and Ask Me Anything discussion with Nick

Update: the next Member/Patron ATM and AMA will be Thursday, May 28! Details to follow.

Feedback from a participant in our April 17 event:

I loved your lesson yesterday…. This morning when I woke up I had a pleasant conscious awareness of my breathing in the stomach region. I love that about Feldenkrais; unknown regions coming into awareness, expanding the inner space of the body and becoming more and more alive (and calm at the same time).

I’ve been enjoying your audio lessons for a long while, and for me it’s a blessing that now I can also be part of your live video classes. It’s fun to share the classroom with you and people in their homes from all over the world in these online sessions. I also liked your introduction and the discussion afterwards. Thank you for your generosity!

Note from Nick:

This event was such a pleasure, and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude to YOU, our donors, for making the Feldenkrais Project possible! Because of you, the FP is doing meaningful work in the world right now during the coronavirus shutdown. Listeners from all over the globe have been writing to say how much they value our lessons right now.

Nearly 50 donors and I enjoyed a 45-minute lesson followed by a 30-minute discussion. Click to watch:

The question of pain during practice interests me. Sometimes my nervous systems throws pain signals my way for very mysterious reasons. When trying to continue the lesson but not have pain interfere with the learning…it can be challenging. Suggestions?

Thanks for the great question, Chris. I’ll work this into the discussion and/or lesson on Friday.

Question for ask me anything: How do we transfer the skills/insight we get in class to daily activities like walking, going up stairs, lifting things, walking a dog who has a mind of her own.

Great, ok! Will work both of these questions into the AMA and ATM.
